OBLIGATION --> You HAVE TO* pass an exam before driving (*obligació imposada desde fora)

You DON'T HAVE TO/NEEDN'T* get up early on Sunday (*ausencia d'obligació)

PROHIBITION --> You MUSTN'T exceed the speed limit

REQUEST --> CAN I phone you tomorrow? (informal)

MAY/COULD I join this team? (formal)

POLITE SUGGESTION --> You COULD take a taxi to the station
