People of every nationality were traveling on the train and it was nice to see that everyone seemed accustomed to the great variety of races and religions in this city 7-What do people do at the Notting Hill Carnival? People of all cultures celebrating it together 8-What is a Cockney? slang (Cockneys are traditionally from the East End of London) 9-Who built the city of York and what was it originally called? the vikings built the city they called 'Jorvik', or York, as it is called today 10-What is a guest house or B & B? It's a type of hotel.- Bed and Breakfast 11-What period of time is covered at the Jorvik Viking Centre? they had been in 948 AD, before they were buried under all the layers of the next 1000 years. 12-What do we learn about the most famous stained glass window in York Minster? The most famous window is at the east end of the cathedral and tells the story of the beginning and end of the world. 13-What might you hear at night in the Castle Museum? hear the ghosts of former prisoners, crying and pulling their chains across the stone floors. 14-What is special about Oxford University? Twenty-five British prime ministers have been educated there as well as many other famous people like the poet and writer. 15-Why was Antonio disappointed when he arrived in Oxford? There were modern shops, everywhere. 16-What effect has the Scholastica Massacre had on the life of Oxford? Townspeople and university students haven't got on well with each other for more than 600 years 17-What unusual tradition is there in Oxford on May Morning, after the May Ball? May Morning 18-Give three reasons why Antonio was happy that Nicola had invited him her parents' house for Christmas. hadn't made any plans for Christmas. 19-Why did Antonio enjoy himself on Christmas Eve? It was like so many films I had seen about England, but was real! 20-When do the British have Christmas dinner and what is the traditional menu? turkey

The cracker opens with a "Bang!" and inside there is a coloured paper hat, a joke written on a piece of paper and a small present. 23-How long has Antonio known Gareth and how did they get to know each other? He've know Gareth since he was a child. Their fathers were university friends and their families always spent their holidays together in Almería.

The interior looked like Cinderella's castle. 25-Why does Gareth tell Antonio to give Angharad a lovespoon Because There's an old Welsh custom in which a young man gives a lovespoon to the girl he likes as a symbol of his affection for her. 26-What three things impressed Antonio at the Eisteddfod? windsurf, Royal National Eisteddfod, Angharad.  27-Why does Gareth think Cornwall is a great place to write about? It has a beautiful coastline, a lot of small seaside towns and very dramatic scenery. 28-Why did the time pass quickly for Antonio in the pub in Bude? he seemed to know everything about Cornwall, its history and its myths. 29-What do we learn about the legendary king, King Arthur? He lived in Tingagel Castle, virtuous king, who attracted the best knights in the Christian world to serve him. 30-How succesful was Antonio's article for the magazine? He didn't win the competition, but they published his story. (the article much more interesting) 31-In Britain, what happens to famous people like popo stars, actors and football players? A famous person is automatically public property. 32-What does Antonio say about queuing in Britain? always stand in tidy lines, not like the big groups of people in Spain. 33-What is special about the libraries in Britain? Libraries in Britain are wonderful places where you can find not only books, but also records, cassettes and videos.(also have Internet)  34-What shows that Manchester United are a very successful football club? Manchester United are also the richest football club in the world. 35-Apart from being one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, why is Edinburgh an interesting place for tourist to visit? it has a fascinating history and there is a lot to see. 36-Explain briefly how Antonio and Martin met. Martin and he met at an school in Spain. 37-What type of performances can you see at the Edinburgh Festival? Fringe classical music, opera, theatre and comedy.38-How do the actors at the Edinburgh Festival advertise their shows? Giving leaflet in the hand. 39-Who was the first king of both England and Scotland?Where was he born and when did he become king? In the tiny room ofthe Edomburgh Castle En el cuarto diminuto del Castillo de Edomburgh 40-What are the Highland Games? They're a competition of the traditional Scottish sports. 41-What it tartan and what is made from it? It's the special pattern in the material that kilts are made from - the material with the different-coloured squares. 42-What is Nessie? the Loch Ness Monster 43-According to tradition, what three presents must be brought to someone's house at Hogmanay, and why?  A piece of coal, so that the house will always be warm, a bag of salt, so that the family will always have something to eat and a bottle of whisky, so that the family always have something to drink.
