1. Short Story: Mary and Her Dog Federico

Once upon a time, there was a 13-year-old girl named Mary who lived with her grandmother in a house on the outskirts of the city. The two went everywhere together: playing, walking, shopping, etc. One day, they decided to buy a dog because the grandmother was getting older and could no longer play with Mary.

They went to the animal shelter (dog pound) and found a 9-month-old black puppy; it was a French bulldog named Federico. They couldn't leave him there, so they took him home. Mary and Federico spent hours playing every day and soon became best friends.

However, as Mary grew older, she couldn't play with him as often. Federico became very sad and barely ate anything. One day, Federico passed away, and Mary deeply regretted not having spent more time with him.

3. Opinion Essay: Digital Piracy and Its Consequences

Piracy, besides being illegal, harms singers, actors, writers, and content creators. Instead of purchasing legitimate products such as films or music albums, users frequently download these files for free and rapidly from the Internet.

On the one hand, it appears easier, more convenient, and faster for consumers. On the other hand, it negatively affects the creative and entertainment industries. These sectors are actively fighting against piracy, an issue that continues to expand with modern technologies. As a result of dedicated awareness campaigns on television, piracy declined by 2% in Spain in 2012. Furthermore, this offense is heavily monitored, investigated, and penalized by law enforcement authorities.

4. Reflective Essay: The Challenges of Student Life

Student life is often very stressful because every day we are expected to do homework, revise notes, and prepare our study materials for the next morning. We have to wake up early and spend over six hours seated, listening attentively to teachers' lectures and explanations.

When classes end, we hardly have any free time, and during most weekends, we still have numerous assignments to complete. Whenever an exam approaches, we must study intensively, yet things do not always go as planned. The older we get, the harder we have to study, leaving us with even less leisure time. Today, especially during challenging economic periods, having formal qualifications is crucial to securing a good job. Ultimately, that is the primary reason we all work hard: to build a meaningful and successful future in life.
