Common English Mistakes: School Trip, E-Book Benefits and Road Safety Campaigns
School Trip to London, Paris and Rome
A school trip: Last year we went to London, Paris and Rome. We flew from Asturias to London. We visited the London Eye, the Tower of London, Hyde Park, the British Museum, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. We also did some shopping. We spent four days in London and then we took a train to Paris. There, we visited the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, and we sailed down the river Seine. We also travelled to Disneyland for a day. We stayed in Paris for three days. We flew to Rome, where we spent the last four days. We went to the Colosseum and the Vatican, and we ate in a typical Italian restaurant.
We had a good time on our school trip. I loved London and Rome, but I didn't like Paris. If Paris wasn't so expensive, I would go again.
E-Book Description
I bought a new gadget which is useful for me because I love reading with my e-book.
In my opinion
Everybody should have one.
To start with
These devices are very small and very light, whereas books are very heavy.
In addition
In one e-book you can keep many books, not just for pleasure reading but also for academic material. You can go to the beach and revise all your subjects or read your favourite novel.
Moreover
In an e-book you can choose the type and the size of the letters.
In summary
If you like reading or you are studying, an e-book is your best travelling companion.
Discuss the Pros and Cons of Using Shocking Images in Road Safety Campaigns
Governments are becoming more and more worried about the increase in road accidents in the last few years. Authorities are making really shocking campaigns to make people aware of the risks of reckless driving or drinking and driving.
Pros
On the one hand, some people believe that these campaigns make us conscious of the consequences and help reduce casualties, although they consider them too expensive.
Cons
On the other hand, most people think that the shocking images in the campaigns are far too shocking and that their effect is only temporary.
In conclusion
I think that even though they are useful to educate people, fines are more efficient.
