1. Job Interview Coordination

- Good morning, I’m Nazaret.

- Good morning, Nazaret. I am calling you to do the interview about your experience.

- Ok, it’s perfect! And where can we meet?

- I am in the Center Hotel right now; do you know this place in the city?

- Yes, I know it. I’m at the bus station; could you go to Russell Square? This square is halfway for both of us.

- Certainly! No problem, but I don’t remember how I can get there.

- I can guide you to the square from your hotel.

- Ok, thank you for everything!

- I don’t mind helping you! Well… You must go outside of the hotel and go straight ahead, then you will find a bank. Take the second street on the left and go straight on again. In this place, you can see a theatre on the corner; take the next street on the left, and you will find Russell Square right in front of the pub.

- Ok, it’s very easy! See you there in 15 minutes.

- Fine, see you later. Bye.

- Goodbye, Nazaret.

2. Meeting and Personal Introduction

- Hello! Nice to meet you!

- Good morning! Me too!

- What’s your name?

- My name is Alfredo Santorini.

- And where are you from, Alfredo?

- I’m Argentinian, and I’m a journalist.

- Really? This is fantastic; I want to travel to Argentina. Are you married?

- Yes, I’m married, and my wife, Ana, is French.

- Oh! That’s great! And is she a journalist too?

- No, she is a lawyer.

- That is also interesting.

- Yes, it is. And how are you?

- I'm very well, thanks; I’m so excited for this interview.

- It’s very easy, don’t worry. Pleased to meet you!

3. Descriptive Reading: Discovering Motril

Hello, my name is Nazareth, and this is the motto of the town where I live:

"Much Motril". This motto defines this town, situated halfway between the mountains and the sea. It is one of the largest municipalities in the province of Granada. An extraordinary way to spend a few days on the beach surrounded by all the necessary services for visitors.

Phoenicians and Romans settled in these lands. Also, in prehistoric times—specifically the Copper Age, as shown by the remains found in the hills of the nation and El Toro, and the Bronze Age at Cerro del Gallo—people lived here. In the Muslim period, Boabdil's mother had a summer home here and played an important role in the defense of the coast, although the city center was small. Philip IV was the one who gave it the city title.

The Mediterranean coasts bathe the shores of Motril, which also served as access points for various civilizations from the Phoenicians to the Arabs. Here landed Abd al-Rahman I, creator of the Umayyad Emirate of Al-Andalus.

The calm waters are suitable for swimming and all kinds of water sports and diving, featuring some of the most beautiful sea views on the coast of Granada. The beach of La Joya is completely natural.

Sugar cane has been their major source of income for centuries, represented by the sugar cane fields, huge processing factory chimneys, and a museum dedicated to this activity. Its fishing port is significant and growing. In the waters of one of its most important districts, Calahonda, fishing and diving are widely practiced. Its crystal-clear waters are the most popular choice for enjoying the hot summer.

Being situated on the foothills of the Sierra de Lújar, it escaped many of the pirate attacks that affected other coastal locations. However, it suffered a severe earthquake in 1804 that destroyed part of its heritage. Fortunately, the Baroque town hall, the Church of the Incarnation (16th century), and the Church of El Carmen survived. The latter stands on a promontory where the victims of the 1583 plague were buried.

I came to live here for work. I moved here with my partner, and soon after, my daughter Desiree was born. I think she is going to live here too, but truly, where my heart and life are is in GRANADA.
