Should Schools Teach Nutrition and Cooking?

In this modern era, many people believe that schools should teach all students about nutrition and cooking. Firstly, not all schools have the scheduling flexibility to address these topics, nor do they have the necessary facilities, such as a kitchen for learning to cook. On the other hand, the topic of nutrition is beneficial, as children would learn to eat healthily and distinguish it from what is unhealthy. It would be very beneficial for them to also learn how to maintain a healthy and balanced diet. Cooking classes would also benefit them to understand cooking methods and what they should cook to achieve a healthy diet and which ingredients to use. In my opinion, there should be talks about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle in high school, but not a dedicated subject for nutrition or cooking. If there are, they should be optional, not mandatory.

Should Families Always Eat Together?

There are people who think that families should always eat together, but there are others who believe the opposite. To begin with, eating together at meals allows everyone to talk about their day, share pleasant moments, and be with family. It also helps parents know what children eat, their preferences, and dislikes.

On the other hand, if you don't get along with your family, not eating together means you don't have to see them every time you eat. If mealtime is your moment of rest and stress relief, not being together might preserve that.

I believe that eating together strengthens the family bond, spending more time together, and it can be a very enjoyable moment. In my home, we have always tried to eat together, and for me, it is essential. Now that my parents are away, I miss mealtime as we were always together.

Is Watching People Eat in Videos Enjoyable?

There are varied opinions about people eating in videos, as some find it entertaining while others may perceive it as disgusting.

On one hand, watching videos of people eating can be cumbersome, especially if you are not eating yourself. It might make you hungry or make you crave what the person is eating instead of your own food. The noises they make can also be unpleasant, and seeing them eat with their mouths open and without any care can be off-putting.

Furthermore, there are people who find the noises made while eating satisfying and relaxing, and watching people eat can be calming for them.

In my opinion, these videos are not relaxing for me, as the eating noises bother me, and watching someone eat when I'm not eating seems dull, considering I have already eaten or will eat later.

Should Unhealthy Food Be Sold in Schools?

Many people are against the sale of unhealthy food in schools, but others believe that it should be sold.

To begin with, students wouldn't consume unhealthy food daily if they have a good understanding of how it could harm their health. If children crave something unhealthy, they can buy it occasionally without abusing it, as mentioned earlier.

On the other hand, it is true that teaching students to have a healthy and balanced diet from school could lead to confusion because they are being told one thing but acting differently.

In my opinion, they should indeed sell unhealthy food, as everyone is responsible for what they choose to eat, and others should not be held accountable for those choices.
