Is Money the Most Important Thing in Life?
Nowadays, many people think that money is one of the most important things in life. This is partly true. Money makes some things easier to obtain, but I think that we cannot buy the best things in life, such as feelings, knowledge, family and friends. As a result, it is not an easy statement to confirm.
The Value of Feelings and Relationships
First of all, feelings like love, happiness and friendship are certainly free. We cannot buy people at any price. We like our friends for who they are, for their characters, not for their money. We receive from them free help, smiles, kisses, hugs and laughter, which are very important in our lives. Many people claim that the best things in their lives are free, and they do not need money to be happy, because feelings like love or friendship cannot be bought with cash.
Happiness Through Giving
Moreover, some wealthy people who in the past gave all their money to poor people or to charitable foundations claim that they are happier nowadays. Despite the fact that they lost all their money, they are happy that they could help other people.
The Belief That Material Things Bring Happiness
On the other hand, rich people strongly believe that material things give them happiness and satisfaction. They think that with money they can have everything they need to live comfortably: expensive cars, big houses, their own property and exotic trips.
Money, Friendship and Respect
Moreover, many people are convinced that thanks to money they can have many friends and that they will be respected. But are they real friends?
Conclusion
To sum up, I think that money is one of the most important things we need to live comfortably. However, I firmly believe that there are more important things in life than money, and we must not forget about them. Love, trust and friendship are things that we should share with others in order to have a fully satisfying life. What is more, these precious things are free.
