Main Characters of The Secret Garden

Mary Lennox

She is the main character and brings about change to the Craven family. She was born in India and went to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven, after the death of her parents. She discovers the secret garden and brings happiness back to her uncle and life back to the garden.

Colin Craven

The son of Archibald Craven, and is a character who is very crippled. However, he only has an issue with his back. After being introduced to his mother's secret garden by his cousin Mary Lennox, he regains happiness and his father's love.

Dickon Sowerby

He is the brother of Martha who lives on the farm. He is very kind and soon befriends Mary. Together they will discover the secret garden and will take care of it.

Martha Sowerby

She is the servant of Mary's uncle. She is a very hardworking girl and helps her family, which is not in a very good financial condition. She is going to tell Mary the secret garden story.

Lilias Craven

She is the wife of Archibald Craven. She dies when she falls from the branch of a tree, leaving a big gap in the family.

She is the housekeeper who takes care of the uncle's house. She is very serious but kind. She ensures that all people comply with the rules.
