Annual School Video Competition

On 5th January, our school organized the Annual Video Competition. The topic of this year’s event was “The Environment.” Many students worked hard to create videos. Some of them were live-action, and others used animation. Each group presented creative ideas to solve environmental problems.

The event took place in the school auditorium. Many students and teachers came to watch the videos. After all the videos were shown, the audience voted for their favorite one. The winner was a video about how to recycle and protect nature. It gave practical ideas, such as reusing plastic and planting trees.

This competition helped students learn about the environment in a fun way. It also gave them a chance to show their creativity. Everyone enjoyed the event, and many students said they wanted to participate next year.

Volunteers for School Sports Day

Last week, we celebrated our annual School Sports Day. The event was successful thanks to the student volunteers. They helped with different tasks:

  • Some students prepared the field and carried the sports equipment.
  • Others set up the music system and handed out prizes during the event.

There was also a first-aid corner for emergencies. Trained volunteers stayed there to make sure that everyone was safe. At the end of the day, the volunteers helped clean up the field.

Sports Day was not only about the games but also about teamwork. The volunteers worked together to make the day enjoyable for everyone. They showed that hard work and organization are very important. The school thanked all the volunteers for their amazing effort.

Class Trip to the City Art Museum

On Tuesday, 13th February, Year 11 students went on a trip to the City Art Museum. It was a wonderful experience for everyone. Dr. Vera Brown, a professor of modern art, showed us the most important works in the museum. She explained the history behind each piece, and we learned a lot about different art movements.

Visit to the Hartley Sculpture Garden

After the museum, we visited the Hartley Sculpture Garden. It was a bit cold, but the sculptures were beautiful. Each one had a unique style, and the students enjoyed taking pictures.

The trip was fun and educational. It helped us understand modern art and gave us a chance to learn outside the classroom. Many students said they would love to visit again because it was such a great experience.

School Chess Victory

Last week, our school’s chess team won first place at the City Chess Event. This is a major competition with over 500 participants from many schools. Our team worked very hard to win each round and finally reached the final match.

The last match was very exciting. The players stayed calm and used great strategies to win. Everyone was proud of their effort. The judges were impressed by their skills, and the audience clapped loudly when they won.

This achievement is very important for our school. It shows how much practice and teamwork can help us succeed. Many students are now interested in joining the chess club because they were inspired by this amazing victory.

Personal Letter: Getting to Know Each Other

Hi [her name]!

It’s great to hear from you! I’m really happy we have started writing to each other. Let me tell you a bit about me. I live in Valladolid, near the city center, which I love because I can go out easily. I’m 16 years old, and I just had my birthday!

I don’t have any brothers or sisters because I’m an only child, but I enjoy spending time with my parents. We like watching movies or listening to music together, which is something I really enjoy.

At school, my favorite subjects are History, Economics, and Literature because I’m studying Social Sciences. I think they’re super interesting and useful for the future. I don’t have pets, but I like animals.

About my friends, I met them through other people, and we all get along really well. They’re super important to me.

What about you? Do you have pets or hobbies? Write back soon—I’d love to know more!

Take care,
[Your Name]
