TORRES

Torres has everything you want in a village. It has old stately homes, beautiful mountains and many olive trees.

The best time to visit Torres is in spring, because the cherry trees are in bloom and they look like a white sea.

There are three rural hotels where you can eat very well. The traditional food is made with flour: noodles, crumbs, sausage, etc.

If you like sports, you can go mountain biking and practice climbing on the steep walls of the mountains.

My Village

In my village, Torres, you can visit the church. It is in the Romanesque style.

I like my village because it is a quiet and cozy place. We live here and I have my friends.

MY DREAM

The day was finished. I was tired and I was going to bed. I turned off the light and fell asleep. Suddenly, I heard the phone ringing and a man told me the countdown. I asked him what he meant and he answered that I had less than an hour to die. Then, I saw a guy coming to my house with a very scary white mask and something in his hand. Was it a gun?

The dogs were barking and I let them go, but the dogs didn't move; they only barked at the man in the mask, who was getting closer. I wanted to run, but I couldn't. My feet didn't obey me. I started to sweat. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't. My voice didn't obey me. I started to tremble. I wanted to defend myself, but my hands didn't obey me. I was paralyzed. The man touched my face and then I woke up. It was my mother calling me to go to class. It had been a dream.

THE HOUSE OF TERROR

There was something strange about Mr. Smith's old house on the coast of Transylvania. Many people thought there was a ghost in the rooms on the east side. On windy nights, people heard strange noises there. They thought it was a baby crying, but there wasn't a baby in the house. For years, many people tried to find the answer to the mystery. Finally, people said: "Sell the house." Mr. Smith sold the house to Bill.

The Noises Continue

But the strange noises continued. After some time, Mr. Bill said: "I think the noises come from the old apple tree next to the house. Its branches hit the east side of the house when there is a strong wind." He cut down the old apple tree. But the strange noises continued.

"Move the house!" people said. Wooden houses are easy to move, and Mr. Bill was a rich man. He called in some workmen. "Move the house to a new place, on Park Street," he said.

The Discovery

While the workmen were moving the house, they found an old box under the floor. There was a child's skeleton in the box. Many people said that the child's ghost made the strange noises. "Rebury the child," they said.

Mr. Bill reburied the child. But on windy nights, the strange noises continued...

The Final Mystery

When Bates died, his son Frank lived in the house. Frank didn't believe in ghosts. Some time later, there was a fire in the house. It burnt part of a room on the east side. Frank called in some workmen: "Repair the room," he said.

While the workmen were repairing the room, they discovered something. In one of the chimneys, they found a wind harp. "The builders put the harp into the chimney to make music on windy days. Now it's old and, instead of music, it makes a crying sound like a baby."

Moral: "Everything has a logical explanation."
