MUNDUAREN BANAKETA

Gaztela eta Portugalen arteko lehia zela eta Errege-erregina Katolikoek aita santuarengana jo zuten, hark erabaki zezan aurkitzen ari ziren lurren gaineko eskubideez. Gaztela eta Portugalek tordesillasko Ituna sinatu zuten 1494an. Itunean meridiano bat egitea erabaki zen. Meridianotik mendebaldera zeuden lurra Gaztelarentzat izango ziren, eta ekialdera zeudenak Portugalentzat. Hori hala, Portugali zegozkion bai Afrika eta Asia, bai eta Brasi ere, ituna sinatu eta urte batzuetara aurkitu zena. Gaztelaren esku geratu ziren Amerikako lur gehienak.

Aurkikuntzen ondorioz itsasoz haraindiko bi inperio sortu ziren, Espainiarena bata, Portugalena bestea.
