BENIDORM: it was just packing people in. It was crowded and noisy. Because it was cheap it attracted lots of 'larger louts'. Many of the hotels were shoddy and not what the brochures promised. There was a little trace o Spanish culture.

Today bad hotels have been improved. New posh ones have been built. A new theme park have been set up. It gets 4 million visitors a year.

GAMBIA: Problems with begging. Money goes to other countries. Travel agent, Hotel, Plane, Local works, Low wages, Jobs, Food&drink...

1-at a travel agent's a family book a package holiday in gambia. 2-money: some goes to the travel agent, some goes to the airline will carry them, some goes to the company that owns the hotel were they'll stay. 3-They travel from the airport to the hotel in a coach. 4-the hotel furnishings and fittings were imported from Europe. 5-almost all the food and drink is imported from Europe too. 6-Most of the salary of the hotel manager and top staff is paid into their banks back home. 7-Cambians are employed and earn a number of pounds a month on average.

Hard solutions are structures built to derend from floodwater.

HOW IT WORKS: Build flood banks: on either side of the river you build a wall to stop the water go out.. Increase the size of the river channel: you make the area of the river bigger and deeper so the river can have more water. Divert the river away from the city centre: more the river so instead of going in the city you move it and the river sorround. Increase the size of the drains: they take the rain water to make the river and make the drains bigger.

sustainaility: if we use waer faster than it can be replenished, its use is not sustainable. we need to store and distribute it efficiently-and this can be expensive.

large-scale water management projects: large-scale projects to increase water supply tend to involve big dams. they are usually complex, multi-purpose projects. Up to the 1980s the rate of building increased, until most of the best sites in North America and Europe had been developed, in the so-called 'Blue Revoluion'.

Currently dams cupply: -40% of the world's irrigated water. -20% of the world's electicity. -and 15% os all blue water.

Drams may bring benefits in terms of increased water supply but they can have negative impacts too.Their construction plays havoc with fragile aquatic ecosystems, destorying fisheries and wildlife. Around 45000 large dams worldwide affect 6 out of 10 major rivers and have caused about 80 million people to be forcibly relocated.

Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are caused by movements within the Earth.
Plates consist of two types of crust: continental a n oceanic. Continental crust is older, lighter, cannot sink and is permanent.
Oceanic crust is younger, heavier, can sink and is constantly destroyed and replaced.
Constructive margins occur when two plates move away from each other, it form a new oceanic crust.
Destructive margins occur when a oceanic crust move towards an continental crust, it can form an island arc.
Collision margins occur when two continental crusts move together, it form an fold mountain.
Conservative margins occur when two plates slide past one another, it can create an earthquake.
A volcano erupts because an oceanic crust move towards an continental crust an it create a earthquake, this earthquake increase temperature and destroy the oceanic crust, the magma rises to the Earth's surface and the volcano erupts.
