Verbos estativos en inglés

• Gustos: dislike, hate, hope, like, love, prefer, want
• Pensamiento: believe, forget, guess, know, remember, think, understand
• Precios y medidas: cost, weigh, measure
• Percepción de los sentidos: feel, hear, see, smell, sound, taste
• Posesión: belong, have, own

Oraciones de relativo (defining relative clauses)

• who, which, that
• whose (cuyo)

Non-defining relative clauses

No definen el antecedente y se separan con comas. Se usa whom en lugar de who (excepto en algunos casos).

Gerundio e infinitivo

Gerundio (-ing) tras:

Vocabulario clave sobre turismo femenino

Departure: hacer algo diferente.

Babymoon: tipo de vacaciones en las que la pareja viaja a un destino romántico mientras vive el proceso del nacimiento de su bebé.

Resonant: algo familiar para alguien porque ha vivido una situación de forma personal.

Childbearing: en este caso, el periodo de fertilidad de las mujeres.

Birth-rate: dato estadístico que muestra el número de nacimientos en un país durante un año.

Colleagues: sinónimo de co-workers o partners.

Godmother: mujer que presenta a un niño en el bautismo y se compromete a cuidarlo para su educación religiosa, o mujer con una gran reputación en una organización.

Eggs: en este caso, forma de referirse a los óvulos de una mujer.

Fairy Tales

A fairy tale, or wonder tale, is a kind of folktale or fable.

In these stories, we meet witches and queens, giants and elves, princes, dragons, talking animals, ogres, princesses, and sometimes even fairies.

Marvelous and magical things happen to characters in fairy tales. A boy may become a bird. A princess may sleep for a hundred years. A seal may become a girl. Objects too can be enchanted—mirrors talk, pumpkins become carriages, and a lamp may be home to a genie.

Elements

One of the elements of fairy tales is that they often start and end with special expressions like "once upon a time," "a long, long time ago," and "they lived happily ever after."

Annual School Video Competition

On 5th January, our school organized the Annual Video Competition. The topic of this year’s event was “The Environment.” Many students worked hard to create videos. Some of them were live-action, and others used animation. Each group presented creative ideas to solve environmental problems.

The event took place in the school auditorium. Many students and teachers came to watch the videos. After all the videos were shown, the audience voted for their favorite one. The winner was a video about how to recycle and protect nature. It gave practical ideas, such as reusing plastic and planting trees.
