Used To y Would

Tanto used to como would se emplean para hablar de cosas que hacíamos antes y cosas que solíamos hacer. No se usan con verbos como be, have, live, love, want y care.

Would se utiliza cuando quieres hablar de eventos que solías hacer de forma recurrente en el pasado.

Past Perfect y Past Simple

Past Perfect Simple: had + participio pasado (3ª columna).

El Past Simple habla de una acción que ocurrió en un momento determinado del pasado. El Past Perfect Simple se adentra más en el pasado y se refiere a un hecho ocurrido en un momento anterior. Ejemplo: había visto (I had seen).

EN PASADO
First, I got up at eight o'clock yesterday morning. Then, I had a shower and I had coffe and toast for breakfast. Next, I got dressed and I went shopping. When I came back home, I did the housework and I cooked lunch. My family and I had lunch at about half past two in the afternoon. Afterwards, I washed up and I had a short siesta. Immediately after siesta, I went to school from past four to half past seven in the evening. When I arrived home, I spent a few hour studying for the exams. Later we had dinner and we watched TV a little. Finally I went to bed early because I was worried about next day's tests.

Matau: Let´s go to Lion´s Rock. It will be funny.

Mum: How many steps are there?

Cathy: 1,200. And there are wall paintings in the middle.

Matau: How do you know about Lion´s Rock?

Cathy: I was here in a dream.

Matau: I don´t understand you.

Cathy: Oh, it´s a long history.
