¿Qué significa 'Would' en pasado?

Entre los significados y usos de "would" se encuentra uno que quizás no conozcas: "would" se puede utilizar para hablar del pasado. No solo se utiliza para formar el condicional, sino que también se puede usar para referirse a acciones pasadas.

Se usa "would" para hablar en pasado cuando nos referimos a acciones que realizábamos de forma repetitiva. Equivale al "pretérito imperfecto" en español.

Por ejemplo:

• Cuando yo era niño jugaba al fútbol con mis amigos en el colegio. When I was a boy, I would play football with my friends at school. ("would play" es "jugaba").
• Ella venía a mi casa todos los miércoles para ver la televisión. She would come to my house every Wednesday to watch television.

Ejemplo: Ella creía (que) seguiría así para siempre.

Nexos

Conjunciones: que, si (interrogativas indirectas).

Pronombres interrogativos: Qué, Cuál, Quién.

Adverbios interrogativos: Cuándo, Cómo, Dónde.

Adjetivos determinativos interrogativos: Qué, Cuánto/s.

Pronombre relativo: Quien (solo cuando no hay antecedente explícito).

No llevan nexo: cuando la subordinada es de infinitivo, interrogativa directa o está en estilo directo.

Tiempos Verbales en Inglés

1. Presente Simple

• Uso: Se utiliza para acciones habituales, hechos generales y verdades universales.
• Estructura:
  • Afirmativa: Sujeto + verbo base (+ "s" en 3ª persona del singular)
  • Negativa: Sujeto + do/does + not + verbo base
  • Interrogativa: Do/Does + sujeto + verbo base?
• Palabras clave: Always, usually, often, sometimes, never, every (day/week, etc.)

Ejemplos:

• Afirmativa: She walks to school.
• Negativa: They do not (don’t) play football.
• Interrogativa: Do you like pizza?

2. Presente Continuo

• Uso: Se utiliza para acciones que están ocurriendo en este momento o en un período de tiempo actual.
• Estructura:
  • Afirmativa: Sujeto + am/is/are + verbo-ing
  • Negativa: Sujeto + am/is/are + not + verbo-ing
  • Interrogativa: Am/Is/Are + sujeto

Present Perfect vs. Past Simple: A Comprehensive Overview

The Present Perfect tense is used for actions that started in the past and are still happening.

It's also used for:

1. Past actions whose results are connected to the present.
2. Announcing news, changes, or events that affect the present.
3. Completed actions where the time isn't specified, or for recently completed actions.

Present Perfect Structure

Affirmative:

Subject + auxiliary verb ("to have") + past participle...

Negative:

Subject + auxiliary verb ("to have") + "not" + past participle...

Interrogative:

Auxiliary verb ("to have") + subject + past participle...?

Wh- Questions:

Wh + have/has + subject + verb (past participle) + ...?

Using "For" and "Since"

For: two hours, a week, six months, twelve years

-La voz pasiva en inglé s se usa cuando el sujeto del verbo recibe la acció n del verbo. Só lo un verbo que acepta un objeto directo se puede poner en voz pasiva.
La voz pasiva se forma con el verbo ‘to be’ como verbo auxiliar y el participio pasado del verbo de la frase:
Simple Present: the book is written
Present Continuous: the book is being written
Present Perfect: the book has been written
Simple Past: the book was written
Past Continuous: the book was being written
Past Perfect: the book had been written
Simple Future: the book will be written
Future Perfect: the book will have been written
Las preguntas se hacen poniendo el primer auxiliar adelante del sujeto:
