Al momento de hablar en tiempo futuro en inglés, tenemos dos alternativas: usar el auxiliar will + verb o la forma going to + verb. Si bien ambas maneras de expresarse tienen cierta flexibilidad, cada una tiene su uso específico.

Uso del auxiliar "will" para expresar el tiempo futuro

Usaremos will + verb para expresar una predicción personal del futuro, es decir, una opinión sobre algo que creemos que sucederá. También se usa para ofrecer o prometer hacer algo.

La siguiente ilustración muestra la forma correcta de construir oraciones afirmativas y negativas con este auxiliar. Como es común en inglés, se admite el uso de contracciones para unir el pronombre personal con el auxiliar "will".

El presente simple se utiliza para hablar de:

Se utiliza para:
